Lanfranc was an 11th-century Italian jurist known for his conversion to a Benedictine monk in Normandy. Lanfranc eventually became known as Lanfranc of Canterbury when he became the Archbishop of Canterbury. While few written works of Lanfranc exist today, his best-known book was ‘De Corpore et Sanguine Domini’ – a metaphysical work describing the differences between substance and accident. This, along with Lanfranc’s other minor works, is included in this 1648 Lutetia edition.
