Crouch published his works under a pseudonym, often Richard or Robert Burton, as is the case with this 1681 treatise, “Historical Remarques and Observations of the Present State of London and Westminster”. As the title suggests, this book covers the establishment and building of churches and towers, the present state of palaces and cathedrals, accounts of plagues, wars leading up to 1681, and the political climate in London.
