Southeast Bavaria, during the 18th-century, was a heavily catholic region with cities such as Munich and Passau creating Catholic Rituals or Breviaries that were written in Latin and German because many of the church-goers did not understand Latin. A German translation was added to many of the sections of the text to allow for a more thorough worship and prayer experience.
This 1751 edition contains prayers, hymns and songs, scripture, and much more. However, it should be noted, that this edition does also contains exorcism prayers and scripture used in exorcisms.
