Jacques de Solleysel as a 17^th-century French author known solely for his published works on horses. Raised as a Jesuit, Solleysel began riding horses at a young age and developed a love for horses and Hippology. In 1664, following his retirement of teaching horse exercises, he published ‘The Perfect Horse’, often thought to be the best 17^th-century book on care for horses.
