Censorinus was a 3rd-century Roman grammarian known for his treatise ‘De Die Natali’. This work covers a variety of topics including the history and development of mankind, the influence of stars, music, religious rites and ceremonies, astronomy, Greek philosophy, and mathematics. This work includes axioms of Euclid’s Elements, as well as definitions of geometric terms. Perhaps, though, the most important section deals with some of the earliest known information on Roman metrics.
