‘Plutarch’s Lives’ or ‘Parallel Lives’ is one of the most important and comprehensive collection of biographies of famous Greek and Roman figures. He focuses on Alexander the Great, Romulus and Remus, Demosthenes, Cicero, Brutus, Julius Caesar, and many other important figures.

This rare 1579 edition was edited and translated by Wilhelm Xylander, a notable German scholar. Xylander was well known for his commentary and edits of Greek and Roman masters including Cassius, Strabo, Marcus Aurelius, and Euclid.
