1779 EARLY Americana INDIANS 1ed John Churchman Quaker Revolutionary War
John Churchman was an 18th-century Quaker minister of whom every little is known today. However, while his published writings were few, one important known work was “An Account of the Gospel Labours”. This book was simply an autobiography of his life and ministry in and around Nottingham, Pennsylvania. The events of his ministry, however, are not the primary draw of this work – this work is a reliable, first-hand account of pre-Revolutionary America and includes his and other Quakers interactions with Native American Indians.
