James Drake was a 17^th-century English physician and political activist. He was known for his political view points, but his most significant contribution was his medical treatise entitled “Anthropologia Nova”. This work was a collaboration of medical though between drake and William Cowper. While many other medical books were in the medical cannon, this book was important as it contained a theory on acquiring immunity to smallpox!
