Johann Comenius, a 17^th-century philosopher, had a desire to create a universal system of education. His efforts manifested in his ‘pansophia’ – a concept which would make learning accessible to everyone. In fact, his book “Pansophiæ Prodromus” would serve as a precursor to many of the modern pedagogical encyclopedias encompassing various disciplines intending to cultivate intellectual growth.

This 1642 first English edition was published in London under the title of “A Reformation of Schools” and is bound in a beautiful leather binding with marbled boards.
