Originally known as ‘Memoirs’ by Franklin himself, ‘Autobiography’ covers each aspect of Franklin’s life including his studies in French, various letters he wrote while in Paris, the progress of his philosophies and experiments on electricity.

This TRUE first edition of Franklin’s ‘Autobiography’ was translated into French by Jacques Gibelin. However, it was also the first appearance of Franklin’s ‘Memoirs’ in that it did not see an English printing until two years later.
