Samuel Johnson was a famous English writer and scholar most known for his ‘Dictionary of the English Language’. In the mid-1700s, Johnson met James Boswell, a Scottish biographer, with whom he became closely acquainted. In 1773, Johnson and Boswell and crew set out on a journey through Scotland, focusing on the Hebrides islands. The two literary giants were keen on discovering Scottish forests, primitive Scottish and Gaelic clans, and meeting Highland families.
