1537 Post-Incunable Juvencus Roman Early Church Bible Paraphrase Juvenk Hispania
Juvencus was a 4th-century poet from Hispania of whom very little is known, only through the histories of Jerome. His poems primarily focused on the history of Jesus, offering a sort of commentary on the Gospels of the New Testament. Juvencus’s Biblical paraphrase resembles that of more iconic poets of the time, most notably that of Virgil.
This early 16th-century printing of Juvencus was published by Westheimer and Brylinger in Basel. It also includes other writings from Diaconus Arator and Prudentius, as well as commentary and annotation notes from 15th-century scholars Johannes Trithemius and Crinitus.
