Patricio Tricasso’s “Epitoma Chyromantico” is a rare, 16^th-century treatise on the occult – a survey of the principles of chiromancy and palmistry. This book is considered one of the most thorough books of its kind, at least as it pertains to books from the 16^th-century. It includes dozens of full-page engravings depicting palm-reads as well as examples of hand lines, folds, and creases.

During this period, the Catholic Church was firmly against works of mysticism and occult divination, and quickly banned this book by placing it on the Index of Prohibited Books.

Nevertheless, this book remains one of the best examples of 16^th-century occult chiromancy.
