A very rare and desirable Vulgate Biblia Sacra printed in Paris by Prevost and Mace. While 16^th-century Bibles are not all together impossible to find, folio editions of Rene Benoit Vulgate Bibles are exceedingly rare. Shortly after this 1565 Jerome-Latin edition was published, Benoit translated it into French. However, Benoit being a devout Catholic, was heavily accused of being too Calvinistic in his theology and translations.

This Bible includes Rene Benoit’s ‘Stromata’ – a compendium of Biblical and theological miscellanies.
