Decimus Magnus Ausonius was a 4th-century Roman poet who is best known for his poem ‘Mosella’ – a description of the French river the Moselle. This edition of the works of Ausonius was published in Bordeaux in 1580 and includes his most important works such as ‘Epigrams’, ‘Edyllium’, and ‘Periochae’ – a prose summary of Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey. Ausonius’s works provide an account of what daily life was like in Ancient Rome. This edition was collected and edited by Elie Vinet.
