1649 NOSTRADAMUS Doom of Cardinal Jules Mazarin Prophecy Pope Innocent X RARE
“From the enslaved populace, songs,
Chants and demands
While princes and lords are held captive in prisons.
These will in the future by headless idiots
Be received as divine prayers.”
– Nostradamus, prediction of the French Revolution
Nostradamus, considered, perhaps, the most famous prophetical seer, has been credited with prophesying important and impactful world events such as the French Revolution, Great London Fire, and reigns of Napoleon and Hitler. Nostradamus claimed that the basis for his “Prophecies” was founded in his judgment of astrology. He was heavily criticized by astrologers for being ‘incompetent,’ as no one could truly predict the future.
In 1649, a curious ‘fake’ edition of Nostradamus’s “Centuries”, entitled “The Horoscope of Jules Mazarin”, was published in Paris – an 8 page edition that was forged to use Nostradamus’s prophecies to predict his downfall of Cardinal Jules Mazarin.
