James Ussher was an early 17th-century Archbishop in the Church of Ireland who is most remembered for giving an exact date to the beginning of creation. In 1655, Ussher published his final book – ‘De Graeca Septuaginta Interpretum Versione’. This work was his interpretation and commentary on the Septuagint in which he sought to prove the validity of the Greek compared to the Hebrew texts of the Old Testament. This tome is Ussher’s commentary on the book Esther.
