Jeremy Taylor was a 17^th-century English Anglican cleric known for his various discourses and Biblical essays. His sermons were popular with other Royalists, many of which led to his arrest and imprisonment in 1645. Perhaps his best work was his devotional ‘Holy Living and Holy Dying’. In this work, Taylor instructed readers how to live a virtuous life (most notably avoiding temptation) with practical directions so that upon death, a life can be holy and well-lived.
