Juan Eusebio Nieremberg was a 17^th-century Spanish Jesuit who is best remembered for his lectures and teachings on mysticism. While Nieremberg wrote several works, one of his best books was ‘Trophaea Mariana’ – an apologetic treatise on the mercy and victories of God describing countless historical events of the Crusades which helped shaped the growth and spread of Christianity. Nieremberg describes some of the following:
