Blount describers the king’s daring escape and his flight from Parliamentarian forces to the safe Boscobel House in Shropshire. This book contains the now famous ‘Royal Oak’ story in which Charles II famously hid in a tree to avoid being captured!

This 1660 edition includes a portrait frontispiece of Charles II and an engraving of his arms including the oak!
