However, his one surviving work is “Excellentium Imperatorum Vitae” which is a collection of biographical descriptions of Roman and foreign leaders. According to Roberts, this work details: “Roman kings, generals, lawyers, orators, poets, historians, and philosophers.” Notable figures covered by Nepos include Themistocles, Lysander, and most famously Cato the Elder.
This 1667 Latin edition was collected and edited with commentary by Robert Keuchenius.
