Abraham Cowley was one of the leading English poets during the 17^th-century. Cowley wrote poems on a variety of subjects, most famously an ‘Ode to Pindar’. This 1668 edition of the works of Cowley includes a life of Cowley by Thomas Sprat, the editor of this edition.
