1673 Sandys 1ed State of Religion Protestant Catholic Europae Speculum Sarpi
“Europæ Speculum” was an early 17th-century treatise written to describe the state of religion in Europe. Written by English Edwin Sandys, this book proved to be one of the most aggressive attacks on Catholicism by a Protestant. With the help of Paolo Sarpi, Sandys summarized many of the aspects of Catholicism as “degenerating from the truth and purity of that Divine”, calling many of the Catholic traditions to be superstitions.
This 1673 edition was published in London by Thomas Bassett.
