Robert Brady was a 17th-century English royalist historian who played an important role in the emergence of English history out of its medieval forms. Much of this was from his book ‘A Complete History of England’. Curiously though, Brady makes controversial claims regarding English law, particularly that the Norman invasion had little to no impact on the development of English law and the feudal system. Other historians, such as James Tyrrell, published attacks on Brady and sought to denounce his views on English history.

This 1685 first edition includes extensive information on William the Conqueror, King Stephen of Blois, Saxons in England, King Richard II, Simon of Montfort, Pope Innocent IV, and much, much more!
