John Leighton was a 17^th-century English divine from Nottingham. While Leighton is rather unknown compared to other Puritan writers, his book ‘Cordial for Drooping Sinners’ is still a fine example of Nonconformist writing from the end of the 17^th-century. This work was Leighton’s focus on proclaiming Christianity to the world while, at the same time, denouncing Mahometism and other pagan and evil doctrines.
