1695 Prince Arthur by Blackmore King Arthur FOLIO Glorious Revolution William III
Sir Richard Blackmore, M.D. was a 17th-century English poet who is responsible for a 1695 epic entitled ‘Prince Arthur’. This story was Blackmore’s retelling of the Glorious Revolution and a celebration of the life and reign of William III. While it tells the tale of the famous King Arthur, whom William III adored, and his defense against the Saxons, it also was greatly influenced by Geoffrey of Monmouth and his ‘History of Britain’.
This incredible 1695 edition is the first edition to be published with an index, something the first printing lacked. An impressive folio!
