Clodoald, or Saint Cloud, was a 6th-century monk who, born into the royal line of Clovis I, abandoned the royal lifestyle to pursue monastics. His ministry included charity, preaching among the poor, farmers, and fishermen, and performing miracles. Seventeenth century French author Pierre Le Sueur wrote a small, but thorough, account of the life of Saint Cloud which was published in Paris in 1696 by Langlois.
This rare first edition includes small illustrated vignettes illustrating different scenes from Saint Cloud’s life and ministry.
