The most significant aspect of this book includes his role in the English Civil Wars, serving as a chaplain in the parliamentary army all while advocating for limiting the monarchy. He also describes his efforts to promote religious tolerance in a post-restoration England.
This 1696 first edition was edited and collected by Matthew Sylvester, Baxter’s greatest advocate.
