Jacques Ozanam was a 17^th-century French mathematician most-known for his work ‘Recreations’, or ‘Mathematics’, which covered a wide variety of scientific and mathematical topics. One of his other books of mathematics was his survey of practical geometry. “La Geometrie Pratique” contains theories on geometry and trigonometry as well archaic terms such as longimetry (study of distances), planimetry (study of two-dimensional area), and stereometry (study of measuring three dimensional areas and volume).

This 1689 edition of Ozanam was published in Paris and includes numerous in-text illustrated figures throughout.
