1711 GREEK Dialogues 1ed Aeschines Socraticus Plato SOCRATES Philosophy Latin
Aeschines of Sphettus, better known as Aeschines Socraticus, was a 4th-century BC Greek philosopher, known for following and studying with Socrates. In fact, following Socrates’s execution, Aeschines wrote a series of dialogues in which he denotes Socrates as the protagonist. These dialogues, which only survived in fragments, are known to be, stylistically, some of the best Socratic dialogues after those of Plato.
This 1711 edition was collected and edited by John le Clerc, published in Amsterdam. It also includes both the original Greek and Latin translation in parallel.
