Following his death in the early 18^th-century, one of Burkitt’s most important books was published for the first time. ‘Expository Notes on the New Testament’ was one of the best supplemental guides to reading the New Testament – it includes the actual text of Biblical verses and immediate commentary on those passages. He also provides historical context for the books, letters, and sermons given in the New Testament.
