First published in 1573, Lobwasser’s ‘Psalms of David’ was taken from the Genevan or Huguenot Psalter and was the standard psalm-book used in German-speaking Protestant churches in the 16th-century. This 18th-century Marburg printing includes hundreds of Psalms and hymns, many set with shape note music.
