Jean-Jacques Barthelemy was an 18th-century French author most-known for his epic work – ‘Travels of Anacharsis the Younger in Greece.’ Barthelemy began working on this work in 1757 and wanted to highlight the voyages of Anacharsis who explored Greece and the Macedonian Empire, discovering Greek music, economy, customs, government, and philosophies foreign to him.
This 1790 edition of the atlas tome contains 32 plates and maps, several of which are folding!
