First edition report of Robespierre’s Reign of Terror!

Maximilien Robespierre was one of the most prominent figures in the French Revolution known for inciting fear and terror into those who were against the Revolution. In fact, the height of his influence was called the Reign of Terror in which he advocated for the execution of Louis XVI and helping carry out the execution of countless of nobles, politicians, and clergy who defended the French monarchy. In the summer of 1794, Robespierre was executed thus ending his ‘reign of terror’ and the extreme measures of seeking change.

French councilor Edme Bonaventure Courtois led a charge to examine the papers and correspondence of Robespierre and his accomplices, including many of which that were obtained from Robespierre’s home. These papers were published as a report following his execution.
