Milner describes the state of the city as it was under Norman control, under the Danes, during the Tudors and Stuarts. It Milner also gives attention to the most iconic institutions including the cathedral and college.

 

This two-volume, 1798 first edition contains impressive, full-page engravings including the city view and views of the cathedral.
