Edwards seems to focus heavily on slavery within the British Indies as well as noting exact numbers of white people verses non-whites. This work tells of culture, living styles, language, and populations of people of Sierra Leone, Mandingo people, Jamaica, Barbados, Creoles, cannibals, Cubans, and natives of Puerto Rico. All of the people groups, whether slave or not, that Edwards mentions, were involved in the British trade of cotton, sugar cane, animal furs, and more. This book includes folding charts of exports and populations.
