Emmanuel Comte de Las Cases was a French author who made his fame through his admiration of the life and military career of Napoleon Bonaparte. Las Cases accompanied Napoleon on his exile to Saint Helena and acted as a record-keeper for the events that took place. However, prior to this voyage, Cases who used the name ‘Le Sage’, published an enormous, elephant folio French atlas entitled “Atlas historique, généalogique, chronologique et géographique”.

This impressive atlas contains dozens of huge, double-paged maps, tables and charts, city plans, descriptions of history and of the world, royal and noble families and genealogies, and so much more. It is, however, the country and continent maps that make this atlas so astounding – the maps of Europe, Italy, and France are particularly desirable!
