      • William James Blow practiced medicine in Greenville, North Carolina after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and was a surgeon for the 27th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry, Confederate Army (1861-1865). Following the war he was a Representative in the North Carolina General Assembly.
      • The Country Doctor Museum Manuscript Collection holds 10 letters between Blow and one, William T. Marsh along with correspondence from General Walter S. Hanrahan and General George B. Singeltary all surrounding Blow’s offensive language toward Marsh and plans to duel (which never took place due to Blow’s decline).
