Benjamin Hill and James Hunt’s “Homeopathic Practice of Surgery” is a 19^th-century attempt to qualify homeopathy as a scientific practice. Rooted in pseudoscience and alternative medicine, homeopathy attempts to cure diseases without biochemical means. While portions of this work seem to be scientific (i.e. the diagnosis and symptoms of diseases), the treatment is contrary to standard medical practices. Hill and Hunt seemingly leave no disease unmentioned, discussing treatments of fevers, injuries, bronchitis, eye diseases, and even cancers!
