1857 Necromancy 1st ed DEMON Possession Mediums Spiritualism New England Cooke
Parsons Cooke’s “Necromancy” is a rare, pre-Civil War rejection of claims of spiritualism, mediums, and demon possession. Cooke, a native of Massachusetts, sought to bring the truth about witchcraft and the spirit world to New England. He stood by his belief that mediums and necromancers were fake as whole, but he also claimed that demon possession was the culprit of many of those claiming to speak with the dead.
This 1857 first, and seemingly only, edition of this book is quite rare and valuable.
