John Leech was a 19th-century English caricaturist who contributed notable illustrations to the famed Punch Magazine. His cartoon sketches were drawn in a wide variety of subjects focusing on social customs and political satire. One of his best collections of art was his “Mr. Briggs & His Doings – Fishing” – 12 stunning sketch-art fishing scenes. Each of the works feature Mr. Briggs – an ‘everyman’ character appearing in many issues of Punch.
