      • Peter Abraham Frasse (1822-1891) was a New York steel and hardware merchant, and founder of Peter A. Frasse & Co. When his father, Henry F. Frasse, immigrated to America from Switzerland, he became the first importer of watchmaker’s tools in the country. The family was known to be associates of Robert Fulton, and the Frasses are credited with supplying many of the tools utilized by the inventor in the creation of the steamboat.
