C.H. Davis’s “Narrative of the North Polar Expedition” is a fine, 1876 account of Charles Francis Hall’s famous exploration of the North Pole and the Arctic. Hall, aboard the USS Polaris, attempted to reach the North Pole on this 1871 voyage, a significant expedition following his initial arctic voyage in search of the fate of John Franklin.
This first edition was the official account of the expedition, published by the Government Printing Office in Washington – note the inclusion of full-page engravings.
