The “My Sermon-Notes” series by Charles Haddon Spurgeon is a selected compilation of notes taken from his sermon outlines and arranged in consecutive order to correspond with specific books of the Bible. Each volume in this series was arranged in this way to assist the reader’s navigation of Spurgeon’s personal notes and commentary alongside a specific Biblical text. Comprising of four volumes, the “My Sermon-Notes” series was published annually in London by Passmore and Alabaster 1884-1887.

Spurgeon compiled this series to assist current and aspiring pastors with sermon study and preparation. According to the preface in the first volume:

“I have prepared these frame-works, not to encourage [laziness], but to help a bewildered industry; and I hope that I have not written so much as to enable any man to preach without thought.”
