“A Sentimental Journey Through France and Italy” is a rare 19^th-century Laurence Sterne novel. A few years prior to writing this book, Sterne went on a voyage through France and Italy and used his trip as the source material for his book. In fact, the book was such a success that it is noted for beginning the trend of travel-based literature in the 18^th-century.

The main character, a Mr. Yorick, journeys to Paris, the Bastille and Versailles, and Lyon.

This particular 1910 issue was part of a limited print run – this example is numbered no. 138 of 500. It is even signed by the illustrator, Everard Hopkins!
