1930 Savoy Cocktail 1ed Craddock Liquor Alcohol Recipes Prohibition Art Deco
Harry Craddock is perhaps the most famous English bartender to ever pour drinks. Craddock made his name known during the 1920s and 30s while working in the Savoy Hotel in London. It was there that he published his cocktail recipe book, ‘The Savoy Cocktail Book’, which was a collection of 750 drink recipes including the famous ‘White Lady’. This book revolutionized the modern bar scene. It created such a buzz around bar-goers, that this book remains unsurpassed in its popularity today. Interesting to note, Craddock states in the foreword of this first edition that
“if everyone knew even a little about the absorbing subject of absorbing alcohol there would be even less Prohibition in the United States.”
While the contents of this first American edition are particularly desirable, the Art Deco front cover and figures create a masterpiece for collectors.
